The Lunar Children

AQUILA

(Velociraptor Obscurus)

The sole survivor of the Battle of the Theropods, Aquila is intelligent and sinister. She possesses strange abilities common only to her and her mother, The Queen, and has a highly evolved form of instinct, which has induced her to master new skills in order to maintain her survival in the harsh world.

CAEDES

(Velociraptor Obscurus)

Aquila’s mate, Caedes is devoted to his queen and a vital reassurance for her in times of need. He has a black face, which is an unusual marking, yet singles him out as the dominant male.

CASPIAN

(Velociraptor Obscurus)

Clumsy and intrusive, Caspian is the younger brother of Caedes, and is all too adapted to angering Aquila.

CROW

(Tarbosaurus Bataar)

The initial ruler of Ignis Springs, Crow is an exceptional Lunar child in that he cares for and befriends Solar children. He is rather old and warm-hearted, but guilt continues to hinder him.

JADE

(Saurornithoides Mongoliensis)

One of Vulcan’s sentries who is wrongly accused of letting hostages escape.

LEECH

(Saurornithoides Mongoliensis)

The third henchman of Vulcan, Leech is reluctant to participate in battles or brawls, and his one fanatical obsession to explore is soon extinguished by the hard lessons life has to teach.

MARMADUKE

(Saurornithoides Mongoliensis)

A head sentry who has long since been branded an enemy of Thorne.

‘THE QUEEN’

(Velociraptor Obscurus)

The mother of Aquila, she too possesses strange abilities and a mysterious past that somehow links her and Aquila to Vulcan.

ROINDER

(Saurornithoides Mongoliensis)

The older brother of Leech, Roinder harbours an almost parental frame of mind towards his sibling, but this changes when he is assigned as part of Vulcan’s ruthless army.

SAIGE

(Segnosaurus Mongoliensis)

A slow-witted fish-eater, Saige resides at the oasis in the desert, and has an overwhelming desire to taste red meat.

SQUIT

(Saurornithoides Mongoliensis)

A sentry posted upon Ignis Peak.

THORNE

(Saurornithoides Mongoliensis)

The top henchman of Vulcan, Thorne possesses the same lust for death and power as his master, and undertakes his assigned tasks with enthusiasm and sick delight. He appears void of all emotions save for anger and blood-lust.

VULCAN

(Tarbosaurus Bataar)

The terrible tyrant who enlists an army of Saurornithoidi to help him conquer lands and strike terror into the innocent. In spite of his army and strength, however, Vulcan feels extremely vulnerable and is prone to attack anyone who threatens his position.

The Solar Children

ARABEL

(Gallimimus Mongoliensis)

An ostrich-dinosaur, Arabel is prone to fainting when frightened.

FERNE

(Protoceratops Andrewsi)

Hatched by Oviraptors, Ferne is courageous and determined, features that put her in jeopardy whilst living beneath Vulcan’s reign.

FILCHER

(Oviraptor Philoceratops)

The long-suffering mate of Othelia, Filcher does his best to help raise his family, but is hindered by his mate’s nagging and his love for eggs.

FLIT

(Pterosaur)

Flit is an adventurous character, who does not consider consequences. However, he is taught to do so when a string of terrible events force him to go against his nature and his upbringing.

HODGE

(Homalocephale Calathocercos)

Flit’s best friend, Hodge is the more thoughtful of the pair, but he too possesses Flit’s love of adventure and berries.

KRIPPS

(Homalocephale Calathocercos)

The leader of a group of rebellious young bucks.

LOTUS

(Nemegtosaurus Mongoliensis)

Gentle and trusting, Lotus belongs to a more spiritual species of Solar child, and never has a bad word to say about anyone.

OTHELIA

(Oviraptor Philoceratops)

The nagging mate of Filcher, her maternal instincts dominate all else and induce her to foster almost anything.

SLEEK

(Avimimus Mongoliensis)

The leader of the Avimimus colony.

ZAZLAH

(Zalambdalestes)

A furry mammal adopted by Othelia, Zazlah is a skeptical and suspicious character, especially where Aquila is concerned.
